March 10, 2014 (Shanghai and Toronto) – China Financial Futures Exchange Incorporated (CFFEX) and TMX Group today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance their understanding of each others’ businesses and to evaluate further business opportunities.Hui Mei, Board Secretary of CFFEX and Brenda Hoffman, Chief Information Officer, Group Head of Technology, TMX Group participated in the signing ceremony.
Under the MoU, TMX Group and CFFEX will cooperate to share certain information and may provide each other with advisory and consultation services concerning risk management, business strategy, market surveillance and new product development.
Top leadership on both sides applauded the signing of the MoU. Zhang Shenfeng, Chairman of CFFEX, expressed his support in the following statement: “The signing of this MoU is of great significance to CFFEX as TMX Group is an important partner in our internationalization strategy.” Tom Kloet, CEO, TMX Group added: “We are very excited to enter this agreement with CFFEX as we look to broaden our activities in the Chinese market. Our two organizations share a strong commitment to deriving meaningful, long-term benefits from our relationship.”
